Hundreds and thousands of souls show their patriotism for football despite the long queueing to be seated, the dirty toilets for nothing can come between their passion which unites the fans to their club. Yet there is no passion, no love, just apathy when it comes to politics.
“We must not allow opportunists to take us back to the period of anarchy and destruction. We must also isolate and shun parties that promote disunity and divisions within our country,”noted Zuma.
Given the short-sightedness of these voters and the mockery to such whom had sacrificed their lives so that every South African can choose a candidate for the betterment of the country not their stomachs. Despite the distastefulness of this method in seducing voters, the authorities seem to have turned a blind-eye to this open bribery. Most councillors, who are voted in, are confronted on day one of the job displaying a lack of communication skills and have a low level of education and etiquette.
Ms Dlamini-Zuma’s fans often say that “South Africa is ready for a woman president.” Would she be any good? Her record in government is not exactly impressive. Susan Booysen, author of the book “Dominance and Decline: The ANC in theTime of Zuma”, predicts that she would be much like her ex-husband.
Many vote for the ANC not because of Jacob Zuma or others but because they appreciate the party which sacrificed so much to bring them to freedom. The nation’s father, Madiba is also the reason many vote ANC but when the people begin to realise that its own government is robbing them.
This would be considered to be betrayal. South Africa is on a time bomb and the people of South Africa are a passionate, patriotic people who I believe will soon revolt against the abuses Zuma’s government and restore the ANC to the ideologies of the true revolutionaries gone-by! Amandla Awethu!
The definition of “democracy” is “rule by the people”. Hence if the people are deceived, kept secrets from, cheated and mistreated and ignored by their representatives and otherwise kept out of the democratic process, then democracy no longer exists.
Many people make jokes about Mr Malema and his incoherent rhetoric, his educational background and obliviousness nature in dealing with allegations. People laugh at his uniform and protests. However I’m afraid that Mr Malema would soon have the last laugh.
